Speldhurst Parish

There is well-documented history about Speldhurst – going back to around 1000AD when there was a church erected here. The Baden Powells have lived (and preached) in the village. It is believed to have been at one time an ancient hill fort – Roman and other pottery has recently been found here. The famous Speldhurst sausage is still made locally!
